Hi Friends!
Vikings have been a recent topic in our household. The Paper Planes NYC family thinks of vikings as fierce redheaded warriors wearing horned helmets. If you follow me on instagram then you probably viewed my photos of a”viking DNA” test my 5 year took and the positive results. The goal of this “DNA” test was to help Knox with his fears and work on feeling brave.
My youngest son, Bryce, was turning 2 and we decided to continue the trend and have a viking themed party for him. Unlike my oldest son’s 2nd birthday, I wanted a low-key and low-cost celebration. Backyard + Hot Dogs + cupcakes + viking theme = Bryce’s 2nd Birthday.
A Viking Themed Party - Toddler Style
So, you can’t have a toddler party, much less a viking party with out hats. I drew a viking helmets and have copies printed on cardstock paper.
The simple viking helmet drawing was the basis for all the viking decor. I glued strips of white paper to a cut out paper helmet. Each guest could draw, decorate and color their paper helmet .
I also printed smaller helmets and glued the cutouts to toothpick. These were my cupcake toppers. Pretty cute huh?
With sharpie I drew a viking helmet on a plain white t-shirt for Bryce to wear. Plus, I think this is cool shirt that he can keep wearing… not just on his Birthday.
They played, enjoyed cupcakes and had a great time. Those are all key ingredients to an awesome party.
Thanks, Carmody
So cute!
