Hi Everyone!
What do you do when your toddler decides that he detest the awesome costume that you have been working on for the last two weeks….throw in the towel and drink? No, just kidding. Instead of trying to con the little bugger into your idea of a great costume you adapt your thinking. What do all toddlers love? Yes, I am talking about stickers and balloons. I don’t know a kid that doesn’t like these two things. And they are cheap and easy to find.
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star Costume
This is a really easy and perfect back-up costume. I used dark blue sweatpants and a dark blue shirt. Both items will be worn at least 100 more times. Then I applied yellow foam star stickers all over the pants and shirt.
A big shiny mylar balloon star completes the costume. Another benefit of my toddler holding the balloon is that he is easy to spot.
He agreed to wear the costume to our neighborhood Halloween Party and had a great time. Of course, I did not capture an image of him smiling and he removed all the stars 30 minutes after wearing the costume, but at least he was in a costume. Right?
Twinkle, twinkle, little toddler.
XOXO Carmody
Oh no, working two weeks on a custume that your little one refuses to wear… I am sorry to hear that!
But your solution is pretty cute.
And what counts, at the end if it, is that he had fun, isn’t it? I love that you didn’t try to force him to use the other costume. I hate it so much that there are so many disrespectful parents in this world.
Anyway. Like I said before:
Cute little express custume!!

Cheers,
Dorothee
Thanks so much Dorothee! The best part is he can wear the shirt and pants any day.
