Hi Friends,
I just returned from meeting with some of the North Carolina ladies of the Southern Girl Blog Community NC Blogger Meetup. This was a great excuse for a mini-vacation. My oldest bestie, and I escaped our busy lives in Charlotte and traveled to Raleigh. She dropped my off at The Busy Bee Cafe to meet with my NC Blogging Ladies. Getting out from behind a computer screen and meeting other writers face to face is always a great motivator for me. It was also inspiring to meet and hear the successful and vivacious Linda Mendible speak. Thanks to Kathy of Up to Date Interiors and Madison of Wetherills Say I Do for making this meeting happen. In all honesty being able to enjoy a meal without someone screaming at me is a treat, but to share it with people who share the similar goals and passions makes it an A+ day. Oh yeah, and I forgot the to mention all the sweet swag that I took home from local makers. Quick Fix for Sizing
Since I was feeling very Southern Lady Like, I decided that I needed a Southern Lady hat. I am a fair-skinned freckle face and hats are a necessity. The next day after a great night with friends, food and wine we headed took our mini-vacation to Target where I found myself a big floppy hat. Just one problem…. it was too big. Here is a simple trick to help you wear that big floppy southern hat that doesn’t quite fit.
Quick Fix For a Too Big Hat
If you have a pea head like me like me and want to wear “one size fits all” hats, here is a quick tip.
- Purchase felt the same color as your hat.
- Fold the felt to build its thickness.
- With a glue gun add the folded felt to the inside of the hat.
- Wear the hat.

I have a big floppy hat very similar to yours. I’ll have to try your trick to make sure it stays on! I love the meet up of bloggers! We need to do that for South Carolina!
