Fall Home Tour….My Dining Room

Fall Home Tour by Paper & Fox

Fall is my favorite season by fall. Something about the crisp air and beautiful foliage puts me in a great mood. Fall also makes me think of warm meals with family and friends. The dining room is the area of my home that I wanted to focus on. My goal is a welcoming, pretty and simple feel for this room.

I chose copper, black, brown and a white as my color scheme for my dining room. I wanted it casual and inexpensive. I painted the inside of a copper-colored charger plates with chalkboard paint. I thought they could be used to create artwork or table seating.

With two small kids it would be silly to have expensive or fragile decorations on the table. I use pumpkins that I picked up from the dollar store. The vase is a mason jar wrapped in washi tape.

I place strips of burlap down the center of the table to act as a table runner. Nothing fancy.

Fall Home Tour, Copper dried leaves by Paper & Fox

I used painted magnolia leaves strung on a tree branch to decorate one wall. I love how simple and pretty it looks against the white wall.

Fall Home Tour, Paper Pinwheels, Bean Wreath by Paper & Fox

I also use grey paper pinwheels and a wreath that I constructed out of beans for decorate another wall. My goal was to have simple colors combined with interesting textures. All the materials were things I either found in my home or yard. Paper, leaves, beans and burlap made this room come together.

I love your casual, rustic approach to fall! I have some of those same dollar store pumpkins and I love how you’ve dressed them up a bit. Your dining room is beautiful. Can you believe this chilly weather that fall has ushered into the Carolina’s today? I’m impressed! :)
