Hello Friends!
When it comes to Valentine’s Day I have two opinions.
- It is silly to spend a lot of money.
- Handmade gifts are always the best gifts.
With that said, today I am going to show you how to make a unique, super cool, three-dimensional, handmade valentine and practically no cost.
Diorama Valentine
Let’s get started!
The goal with this project is to use supplies that you have around the house. Open up that junk drawer and lay out the goods.
Here is what I used to make my diorama.
- Small cardboard box (the size that earrings would come in)
- Scrapbook paper
- Wallpaper samples
- Random toy dinosaur
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- Marker
- Watercolor paint
- Paintbrush
Now it is time to get creative. I decided that I wanted to create a landscape for my little dinosaur to hang out in. With my scrap-book paper, I started building my landscape in layers.
I ran out of color options with my paper, so I painted some of the paper with green watercolor paint to create a “grassy hill”. I could have also used a colored marker.
With the glue stick, I attached each layer inside the cardboard box.
Using diffident textures will create an interesting diorama.
I did the same to the top of the box.
I attached my dinosaur inside the diorama and added a sweet message. Put on your thinking cap to create something nice to say….or Google it.
So there you go, a creative, one of a kind, handmade diorama valentine.
Happy Valentines Day!
XOXO Carmody
