A Very Merry Christmas Home Tour
Welcome to Charlotte, North Carolina . We have lived in our home for three years.
The green front door is what lured us in and was my first place to start holiday decorating.
My oldest son has declared that we need to collect nutcrackers and so we have started the collection. My husband scored these two nutcrackers at a charity sale for a whopping $5 a piece. Awesome right.
I admittedly have a “black thumb” or at least a distracted thumb when it comes to plants.
I picked up a mix of artificial plants and stuffed them in the planters. For Realz.
My Charlotte doormat looks festive in between the nutcrackers.
My wreath is over 10 years old and was white with clear beads in a former life.
It was looking dingy so I coated the wreath with red spray paint and attached one white poinsettia flower. Before you toss something in the trash, try giving it a facelift. Spray-paint fixes almost everything.
I was really excited to decorate my newly painted fireplace this year. Last year it was so dark you could barely see he decorations. My goal was to keep it red, gold, white with a touch of black. I picked up garland from the dollar store and spray-painted it gold. Why not , right? On the mantle is my beaded Christmas tree, nutcracker and holiday decorations. I re-covered the seat cushion with black and white striped fabric. The cushion provides seating and also protects the kiddo’s noggins.
I created easy pom pom garland to drape the Christmas Stockings.
I felt like such an adult this year when I put of matching Christmas stalkings.
I hung my book page garland over a white mirror. This cost absolutely nothing and it looks lovely.
My DIY “Merry”sign is peaking at you from around the corner.
Phase 2 is decorating is the tree. Phase 2 is still under construction. With a two year old in the house, glass ornaments are a no-no. I found a great collection of plastic and cute ornaments from IKEA . They are fantastic right? I can’t wait to get the tree up and decorated. I hope that you enjoyed my Christmas Home Tour.
