Hi Friends!
I have mentioned before that my husband, David, is creative and is always working on a project. His projects are usually larger in scale than the ones that I tackle. I am not sure how exactly the Boy’s Fort transformation started, but it involved a lot of tools, time and trips to Home Depot. It also involved my husband’s huge imagination.
We started with the wooden swing set above. Santa brought it a few years ago , but you can also purchase this Adventure Playset online. This is an awesome play-swing set , but David thought it was time to give it a rugged upgrade. This is not a tutorial because I am not sure if I can appropriately describe what all that he did. Are you ready?
I suspect the project really started because he had just chopped down a bunch of tree branches in our backyard and needed a place to put them.
I do know that David cemented the branches on the front of the play set into the ground. He wove and nailed the other branches to cemented branches to create a “hide-out” underneath the play set. He also salvaged an old telephone pole and some floor joists to create the annex structure.
He added a full deck on the second level. This is the view look at our house. We had dinner up there a few nights ago.
It is not finished, but the boys have already enjoyed many hours of fighting pirates and capturing “bad-guys” on their new fort. David appears to be adding a third level, but I haven’t reviewed the blueprints yet. I am fully aware that this fort looks crazy, but it is a little boys dream.

I hope that one day my boys will fully appreciate all the love and time David put into building the best fort ever.

Wow!! This is absolutely fantastic. Makes me kinda jealous that I never had a girl’s fort growing up. Props to you and your hubby!
This is so creative. I love the ‘sticks and limbs’. I’m certain any boy would love having their own fort to play in. Your husband is very creative. Men do seem to love making those trips to Home Depot, don’t they

Your husband is really talented! I think any kid (boy or girl!) would be happy to have a super cool fort like this one (I know I would have as a little kid!).
