Paper Heart Art
This is a super easy and really pretty Valentines Day Art project. My 5-year-old approves, and he is a hard sell when it comes to anything that can be classified into “girl art”… like hearts.
Materials
- Origami Paper
- Scissors
- Glue gun/glue sticks
- Canvas
- Card stock Paper
I created a heart template out of card stock paper. I folded various colors of origami paper in half.
Using my heart-shaped template, I cut out lots of paper hearts.
I used many different colors and ended up with about 30 paper hearts. I am sure I will find a use for leftover hearts.
I could have measured and marked where I wanted to place the hearts on the canvas, but I didn’t. I eye-balled the spacing of the hearts, and arranged the layout of the different colors.
I placed a tiny dot of hot glue on the center fold of each heart and attached it to the canvas.
The final piece is a clean and simple that would be great to display all year, not just valentine’s day.

I’m not crafty at all, but we’re having a baby in April and I’ve been looking for ways to decorate her nursery that take hours to craft. I love how simple this is! (BTW, I work with David at Belk and he said it would make your day if we visited and commented on your blog. And as a fellow blogger, I’m all about making another blogger’s day.) Cute. I did a similar project with folded butterflies cut from paper. But, I painted the paper with watercolor paints first. I think that technique would work beautifully here as well!
