I haven’t done anything nautical inspired in awhile and I was feeling a little off. Then, I remembered that I never shared the full tutorial on how to create my Nautical Rope Necklace.

Nautical Rope Necklace

I like simple jewelry and it is also a plus if I don’t have to worry about my kids breaking it. This necklace is a staple in my wardrobe. It is a really simple necklace that cost almost nothing to create, but is really dang pretty.

Here is what you need:

• Nylon Rope from a hardware store - cut to 2 x’s the size you want your necklace
• Embroidery Thread - Any colors
• Hot Glue Gun

As ya’ll know, I am slightly addicted to nautical inspired everything, so I chose a blue and coral to be the accent colors on my necklace. I made sure I had enough rope to that even when doubled it could fit over my head. This necklace does not have a closure clasp, but it could by easily modified to have one.

With your glue gun attach the raw ends on your rope. Fold the rope necklace in half and with your handy dandy glue gun attach the two folded ends together. You only need a tiny dab of glue. Now you should have a double rope necklace.

Now, tightly wrap the thread around the two pieces of rope. Keep wrapping until you are satisfied with the appearance of the necklace.

You can add as many colors that your heart desires. Once you are done with the front of the necklace, do the same wrapping technique to the back.

To finish the necklace simply add another tiny drop of hot glue and snip the excess thread with scissors.

This is one those pieces that people will ask were you purchased it… it happens to me.
