Geometric Pendant Light - Home Depot Gift Challange

Home Depot Gift Challenge

Hi Friends!,

Welcome to the 2nd project in the Home Depot Gift Challenge. Each month 12 creative bloggers are given an item/material from Home Depot to purchase, transform and use in a gift. Last month I used a copper tee to create a cute little cabinet handle. This month our material is wood dowels and the gift recipient is a child. * Home Depot is not affiliated with this challenge in any way.

Geometric Pendant Light

Geometric Pendant Light Home Depot Gift Challengee

For this challenge I created this Geometric Pendant Light for my boys. I am working on putting together a little reading (Chill Zone) area where they can relax , read, and work on puzzles in their bedroom.

Tools for Geometric Pendant Light

Materials

start of the geometric pendant

My first step was to build a frame around the light swag. This was easier than cutting the swag and rewiring it later.

I continued to build a cage around the light. I cut the dowels with my oscillator tool as I works. I did not map everything out before I started. This was a “fly by the seat of my pants” lamp.

I attached the dowels with hot glue. Once the lamp structure was complete, I coated it with gold spray-paint. Gold is one of my son’s favorite colors.

For contrast I wrapped embroidery thread around the swag base.

Geomtric Pendant Light made from wood dowels

There you have it! My geometric pendant light that was made from wood dowels. Easy and inexpensive.

Little reading nook

Most importantly, my guys like their new reading space.

Check out what the amazing wood dowel creations made by the Home Depot Gift Challenge bloggers team.

Wow! You’re so clever! Such a cute light fixture that looks expensive, but was probably super cheap! A cute little reading nook, too!

I love it! I have a tendency to want to turn everything I see into a light fixture, but I wouldn’t have thought of this one!
