Hi Friends,

Earlier in 2014, I shared my goal of keeping track of all of our cell phone photos and memories during the year. My New Years resolution was to save and organize my photos by season. Surprisingly, I kept this resolution. You know what? I turned all of these photos into an awesome family photo book that served as gifts for the grandparents this Christmas. If you are to make one resolution this year, let this be it.

So, here are things to remember when gathering for your photo book.

Save your photos on a flash drive

How many of you have lost or broken your phone and lost all your saved images? It is terrible when it happens, but it does happen. I spray paint the flash drives different colors to tell them apart. The flash drive above was full of family images and we gave it to a computer savvy grandparent.

Document the mundane….the real part of life

Like when you took your kids to a museum, but all they wanted to do is play next to an exterior wall.

Toys that you find behind the sofa cushions.

Document everything from games, selfies to pouty moods. Candid life photographs are way more interesting than posed family photos.

It is moments like taking your toddler to the doctor to have cereal removed from his hear canal that you will love years from now.

Add artwork and crafts

It is a simple idea and only takes a tad bit of effort. I promise you will thank yourself next December.
